COUNTRY: Costa Rica REGION: West Valley FARM: Don Claudio FARMER: Claudio Salazar ALTITUDE: 1650 M VARIETAL: Red Catuaí PROCESS: Natural
Costa Rica Don Claudio Natural has blueberry, cocoa nib, and finishes off with a brandy flavor.
The farm was originally owned by Don Claudio´s father, Don Cristobal, who divided the farm between his 7 daughters/sons. Since his young days, Don Claudio was taught by his father to work on the Coffee farm. His wife Dunia Rodriguez and their 2 sons have continued that process and shares that knowledge by passing it down to the future generations.
The farm is located in the highlands of Llano Bonito of Naranjo, a fresh and quiet town, with great conditions for coffee growing, the altitude, soil, microclimates, just make it a privileged place for coffee. They work several varieties within the farm like Caturra, Villalobos, Geisha, and different Sarchimores. The whole family is involved in the process of the farms, from the nurseries, up to the harvest, in pursuit of that great quality they´ve been taught to produce.
