KLATCH: a casual gathering of people, especially for refreshments and informal conversation
An informal gathering for coffee and conversation, simply stated, is what Klatch Coffee is. For the past 20 years Klatch Coffee has been serving up award winning coffee with great conversation. Based in Los Angeles, this family business started out of a love for great coffee with one retail store and has evolved into a global wholesale roaster and retailer with its coffee featured daily on three continents.
Klatch coffees are born as a result of nurturing relationships with the farmers who grow the beans. It is our belief that the art of Klatch begins right where the seeds are planted. Green buyer and roastmaster Mike Perry painstakingly travels the globe to ensure that we have the first look at the finest results of each harvest. Our commitment to honest business practices means we build trust and loyalty with the farmers we work with. All of this is accomplished through a Direct Trade model and a simple handshake. That's the way we do business.
After the beans are sourced, they make their way to our home in Southern California where the quest for only the best continues. Mike uses his degree in Chemical Engineering to achieve a balance of science and artistry we call “Peak of Flavor” roast style. Simply put, each individual coffee varietal is roasted to its unique peak flavor profile. The care we put into sourcing and roasting has been recognized through awards such as ‘Micro Roaster of the Year’, ‘Best Espresso in the World’ at the World Barista Championships (Tokyo WBC 2007), the #1 Coffee of the Year (Coffee Review 2014). In addition, over 80% of our coffees cupped by Coffee Review have scored 90 points and above. Most recently awarded Overall Champion 2015 Golden Bean- The world’s largest roasting competition.

Mike Perry (Roastmaster, Green buyer) blends a background in chemical engineering with love for great coffee to balance science and artistry. This is what Klatch calls the "Peak of Flavor" roasting style, resulting in the perfect cup.
Cindy is the calm and sweet presence that our team looks up to as a great role model. She has been described by her daughters as the glue that holds Klatch together and by her husband as the "better half". As the CFO, she handles all major financial needs and record-keeping.
Ms.Perry began with Klatch Coffee working in the retail stores, and later began using her skills to compete in Barista Competitions. The skills she has learned at Klatch equipped her to win many titles including Four Time Regional Champion, Two-Time United States Champion, and taking 2nd place in the World Barista Championships to name a few.
These titles helped to solidify Ms. Perry’s reputation as a professional trainer, and she has trained individuals and organizations in over a dozen countries. She is also the past Chair of the Barista Guild of America where she helped to design and launch their Certification Program. Heather is currently Vice President of the SCA and Klatch Coffee and responsible for all Klatch Training and Consulting.
Holly began sweeping beans behind the counter when she was 5 years old and has worked in the coffee industry ever since. Though unsure at one point whether or not she wanted to work in the family business, she could not imagine doing anything else.
Holly is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management and is also certified sommelier. As the Retail Director, you can find Holly in and around the Klatch retail stores, visiting other cafes, or competing in latte art throw downs.
Since his early teenage years Todd was always fascinated with the coffeehouse experience. At first, he was drawn in by the environment and the atmosphere, but later learned that it was the coffee that would inspire his career path.
Over the years, Todd has continued to find ways to expand his knowledge of the industry by attending and volunteering at SCAA (Speciality Coffee Association of America) and BGA (Barista Guild of America) events.
Todd is a two-time US Brewers Cup winner, first in 2014 and recently in 2016. He is currently Klatch Coffee's Wholesale Account Manager.
