In 2002, the son Daniel noticed that the coffee bushes in a particular valley produced coffee of a remarkable quality. These superior coffee beans were sold separately as Esmeralda Special. Though altitude presents challenges for growing and harvesting, it is up in the mountains of Boquete that the unique floral and citrus aromatics of geisha coffee shine brightest. Because of these unique circumstances, only fifty to hundred bags are produced a year. The 2017 crops from Hacienda La Esmeralda, an old coffee farm in Boquete, Panama and an exclusive crop with cupping scores of over 90 points.

Klatch Coffee has two of Lamastus Estates Family ASD Geishas, one being the Elida Geisha Natural ASD, the other Elida Geisha Natural 1029 (Green-Tip ASD).
ASD stands for Anaerobic Slow Dry, wherein the coffee is placed into fermentation tanks for 120 hours with the pulp, and then placed onto drying beds with a thick layer for a total time of five weeks. This ASD processed Geisha coffee was used for brewers cup by Wilford Jr. of Lamastus Estates in 2019. The coffee beans were grown in 1850 Masl in the Torre lot, and this lot is a neighbor lot from the Best of Panama Elida Geisha Green-Tip ASD of 2019.

The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at Cal State San Bernardino announced the finalists for this year's Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards program. 33 entrepreneurs were selected from a pool of over 200 nominees. The 38 semi-finalists participated in a reception on September 25 sponsored by RP&B CPAs, where they interacted with the event judges. Immediately following the reception, the judges convened to select the finalists. The finalists for the event will compete for the Spirit of the Entrepreneur award in eleven (11) different categories at the 17th annual awards black-tie gala on November 13 at the Riverside Convention Center. Winners will be announced at the event.
