Klatch welcomes back the Antigua! A verdant colonial region in central highlands of Guatemala, Antigua is nestled within three volcanoes. The Finca Covadonga coffee farm is an elegant treasure composed of dedicated farmers along with a vast knowledge and passion for coffee.
Our new Antigua is a prolific micro-lot. It offers a sweet floral, watermelon and honey on the nose that carries into the cup with added notes of caramel, citrus and hints of cherry fruit. You can also taste the sweet lingering flavors of vanilla and honey, providing an elevated and memorable drinking experience.
Antigua Valley is perfect for cultivating coffee, with ample rainfall, altitude above 4,900 feet and a constant humidity of 65% -- making Antigua coffee number one in Guatemala.
Imagine a coffee that perfectly combines body, flavor and aroma. Genuine Antigua coffee is internationally renowned for its unique characteristics: fragrance and lingering aroma, slight sweetness, clean and pleasant. A hint of chocolate, as well as a fine and discernible body are unique characteristics of the cup.
Genuine Antigua coffee is a gift from the gods poured in your cup, providing bursts of delicate flavors that you can savor every day. Confirmed with Coffee Review with a seal of 93 points, Ken Davids described the Covadonga as "a sweetly bright yet balanced cup. The acidity is delicate yet penetrating, the mouthfeel is light, smooth and silky, orange, honey, flowers and a hint of milk chocolate in both aroma and cup. A precious, pure and lyrical coffee."
COFFEE REVIEW SCORED 93 POINTS
Blind Assessment: Smooth, layered complexity. Delicate floral notes, nut-toned chocolate, honey, a hint of banana in aroma and cup. Balanced, sweet-toned acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The floral notes in particular surface in a sweet, surprisingly deep finish.
Notes: Produced on Finca Covadonga by farmer Roberto Sanchez. Guatemala’s Antigua Valley produces some of Central America’s most traditional and classic coffees.
