The Clever Dripper combines the best features of French Press and Filter Drip Brewing, eliminating the drawbacks of each.
By adding a stopper to filtercone, the Clever Dripper combines control over steeping time with a sediment-free cup.
How to Brew Coffee
- Step 1: Put the paper filter into the dripper and rinse with hot water (using a kettle) to reduce paper taste and warm the dripper.
- Step 2: Grind immediately before you brew. Use a fine filter drip grind like the Capresso Conical Burr Grinder. We usually brew our Clever with 12 ounces of water to 24 grams of coffee. The coffee needs to be ground to a medium grind. We use the same grind for the Clever as we do for an automatic drip coffee machine. After this procedure, go ahead and put the grinds into the paper filter.
- Step 3: Add water just off the boil and cover. Wait 1.5 minutes, lift the cover, stir to fully infuse the grounds with water, then re-cover.
- Step 4: When infusion time is up, stir once and place dripper on top of a mug or other vessel. To stop the flow, simply lift the dripper off the mug. Enjoy!
