Klatch Coffee barista, Jessica Rodriguez, competed in the Ultimate Barista Challenge in August and won the Frappe Challenge. The Ultimate Barista Challenge is a three day event that consists of three challenges: Latte Art, Frappe and Best of Brew. Jessica brought her signature frappe recipe, made from pineapple, cilantro, macadamia nuts, coconut, and Klatch House Espresso. Her prize, a Vitamix blender, is currently on display at the Klatch Coffee in Ontario, California.
When asked if she has caught the competition bug her answer is “Yes, definitely! I cannot find the words to express how rewarding this experience was. I have met so many people that I hope to have the opportunity to work with again.” She credits the support of her Klatch Coffee team for giving her some of the tools necessary to be successful, “I have learned so much and surpassed my expectations of what I thought I was capable of.”
