Ka'u Red Caturra a sweet and complex custom lot coffee. These beans will take you to a small tropical fruit stand on the island of Hawaii. In the aroma we have notes of kiwi, mango, oranges, strawberries, and red flowers. In the cup, a creamy body carrying over the tropical flavors. The orange tones become a cream-sickle and additional notes of cantaloupe, banana and a dab of juicy red apple.

The natural Red Caturra played a major role in Pete Licata's 2011 United States Barista Championship and World's Barista Championship competition. Licata was the first competitor from Hawaii to win USBC and also the first to prevail any national barista competition using 100% Hawaiian coffee. Licata picked and processed all coffee for competition, using Rusty's Hawaiian processing methods.

Rusty's Hawaiian winner of SCAE's 2010 Outstanding Producer Award, this award is presented to a farm in origin that has world extensively or done research in improving the production and preparation of green coffee. Also in 2010, Rusty's Hawaiian won the Hawaii Coffee Association's Cupping Competition. Ranked highest, with 91.1 score, over 67 entries from different coffee regions throughout Hawaii.
