Fed by fresh mountain water, and matured through 'thirteen months' of sunshine, the rich resonance and variety of the sundried coffees contrast with the delightful floral and aromatic flavors of the natural coffees to provide an unrivaled range of tastes, highly esteemed by many and fully loving up to their reputation as outstanding specialty coffee.

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe FTO Banko Dhadhato coffee is sourced from family-owned farms organized around the Banko Dhadhato Cooperative located in the village of Banko Dhadhato in the southern district of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. The Banko Dhadhato Cooperative was established in 2012 and currently has 177 members. In 2012, the cooperative joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), an umbrella organization established in 2002 to support a sustainable coffee supply from cooperatives in the Gedeo ethnic region of Ethiopia. There are twenty-six other cooperatives affiliated with the YCFCU totaling more than 35,000 members.

Overall, excellent but not as complex as some Ethiopian coffees. Roasted medium/light. Very blueberry start, mild lemony acid, mild chocolatey finish. Body and mouthfeel is light and crisp.

This coffee is really special, simply based on how good the green coffee smells. Properly roasted, it is equally as impressive in the cup. This has become our Klatch favorite - gotta get MORE each year.

love 'em all...but ethiopia rules September 28, 2012

seriously, the previous offering from konga zone just made me smirk like someone who made a really great decision, as it gave up espresso-like qualities in my french press even in the lighter roasts, but with ample fruit.

the worka makes me smirk from the time I smell the green beans, through the blushing fruit smells wafting from the roaster, to the cup that speaks volumes after a good 72 hour rest.  less intensely roasty than the konga, but just packed with syrupy fruitiness to match those intense aromatics.

yes, my friends, when well selected like mr. perry and friends obviously succeeded in doing, ethiopia rules the roost (or is that roast ?)  thanks klatch for letting me buy these green and feel like a genius!
