I'll cup this in a couple days, and bump up the review one notch if the cup knocks my socks off. first, if 4 stars is good, and 5 excellent, how do we form a half star for 4.5 i.e. very good? that is the response I'm anticipating from this cup in about 48 hours. at a city+ roast biting into the bean makes you realize that this is a very nicely processed, super hard bean. very dense, with very balanced flavors (bourbon, baby :-).
the great salvadorian coffees seem to all have this not so gushingly sweet seriousness to them, and you'll find that here in this bean. along with oodles and boodles of chaff...so be prepared to clean out that chaff collector. nice roasting aromas. I'll be tapping my foot impatiently for the next 47 hours and 55 minutes waiting to sip this beauty.
second point, that guy in the picture looks like he is on the other sideline of a football field of coffee beans. cool perspective! thanks klatch.
