Earlier this week Good Food announced the 21 finalist for coffee. Klatch Guatemala Covadonga placed in the top five of the Western Region Division out of 45 coffees submitted. Our Covadonga going up against stiff competition with other talented roasters like Blue Bottle, Ecco, Intelligentsia, and Ritual in the Western Division.
The Good Food Awards recognizes truly good food—the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities. The Good Food Award honors people who make food that is delicious, respectful of the environment, and connected to communities and cultural traditions.
The winners of the Good Food Award for coffee will be distinguished by exemplary flavor - sweet, clean, well developed body, balanced acidity and phenomenal aromatics. To qualify for entry, roasters must emphasize fairness and transparency from seed to cup, and certify that their coffee beans are grown without the use of pesticides or herbicides.
Winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in San Francisco, California soon. Wish us luck.
