Together, the three Southern California coffee roasters sponsored a competition with farmers in Huila and Antioquia offering all farms that produced excellent coffee a well-above Fair Trade price Farm Gate, meaning that in addition to a good price, we paid for all milling and exporting costs in stead of the farmer. We have also promised to pay 3.6 million pesos in Farm-Improvement Grants to the top three farms.
Brayan Joven Almario is the Roasters United winner. His farm, Finca Esperanza, is located in Timana, Colombia.
