Espresso Pick - Belle
Intense aroma: brandy, chocolate, caramel. In the small cup medium in body but smooth in mouthfeel, crisply pungent yet caramelly sweet, with a tightly knit, understated complexity: brandy, caramel, cedar and flowers, hints of which persist in the roundly rich finish. Masters milk with a gentle, brandied chocolate authority. Our Belle is the highest rated espresso blend with a 94 points by coffee expert Kenneth Davids of Coffee Review. Ken tried 40 espressos and rated over 30 espresso blends, placing Belle on top.
Coffee Pick - El Salvador La Montana
Deep floral and sweet citrus aroma with hints of toast. Well-integrated acidity, with medium body and a silky mouthfeel. Complex yet delicate flavor notes include cherry, citrus, flowers and muted nut, with a long syrupy sweet finish. Rated 92 points by Coffee Review. This pacamara comes from our friend Raul ‘Beto’ Ochoa of Finca La Montana. In 2007, this coffee bean finished first in the El Salvador Cup of Excellence. We visited Beto in January after the cyclone hit much of Central America and particularly his farm. While much of his crop was destroyed, we were able to secure this coffee and are helping Beto to rebuild his farm. The beans are vacuum packed in 10 kilo foil bags to preserve their quality throughout the year.
