Last week Good Food Awards announced the 2012 Finalist. Klatch Coffee's FTO Ethiopian Gedeo Worka was honored and name one of the 11 finalist in the coffee category.
Gedeo Worka is a distinct and diverse coffee with an abundance of fine flavors from the birthplace of coffee. This Ethiopian natural is composed of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries with additional notes of bing cherries and the unexpected tropical fruit tones, pineapple. Held together with notes of cherry vanilla and slight coco powder. This medium light roast provides a fragrance and aroma encumbered of floral, berries, and tropical fruits. A bright acidity among a creamy and juicy body. Already rated 92 point by CoffeeReview.com.
The Good Food Awards recognizes truly good food—the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities. The Good Food Award honors people who make food that is delicious, respectful of the environment, and connected to communities and cultural traditions.
The winners of the Good Food Award for coffee will be distinguished by exemplary flavor - sweet, clean, well developed body, balanced acidity and phenomenal aromatics. To qualify for entry, roasters and coffee farmers must emphasize fairness and transparency from seed to cup, and be using third party certified organic beans. Once again, coffee is leading the way towards sustainability.
Winners also receive a Good Food Awards seal to place on their product and connections to a network of national buyers who seek out foods that meet the holistic Good Food Awards criteria. Find more information at: www.goodfoodawards.org.
Winners will be announced on January 13, 2012, at a ceremony at San Francisco’s iconic Ferry Building. Stay tune.
